Hotel Belo Isla Mujeres Without Sargassum

Isla Mujeres Seaweed:

We know that the presence of seaweed, better known as sargassum, is one of the concerns of our guests, who wonder what the experience will be like on their next vacation at Hotel Belo Isla Mujeres.

In response to this we want to clarify that at Hotel Belo, we have redoubled our efforts to combat seaweed, so that currently, the beaches of Hotel Belo Isla Mujeres are free of sargassum.

As part of our ongoing efforts to monitor the sargassum situation, we are in contact with the government to implement actions such as:

• Daily beach cleaning.
• Constant monitoring of seaweed.
• Containment of algae in shallow waters, with support from the Ministry of the Navy.
• Reservation of sargassum collection points for drying and screening, for subsequent transfer to the final site.

It is also important to mention that according to the Citizen Sargasso Observatory and the Sargasso Monitoring Network of Quintana Roo, no beach on Isla Mujeres has an excess of seaweed, so visitors can enjoy their vacations on this wonderful Caribbean island.
